1. INTRODUCTION

ParichuteDonate ("PDO," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you access or use the ParichuteDonate website, platform, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

"You" and "your" refer to anyone who accesses or uses the Services, including donors, nonprofit representatives, volunteers, and website visitors.

This Policy applies to information collected through the Services, when you communicate with us, create an account, make or manage a donation, participate in fundraising or volunteer activities, interact with an Organization using the Services, or otherwise provide information to PDO. It may also apply to information received from third-party services integrated with or supporting the Services.

This Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of third parties, including Organizations, payment processors, social media platforms, or other third-party websites and services. Those parties may have their own privacy policies and terms.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law, and the "Last Updated" date will identify the most recent version.

2. CHILDREN AND MINORS

The Services are not intended for general use by children under 16.

Individuals ages 12 through 15 may use the Services solely to participate as volunteers with Organizations when a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to the applicable Terms of Use and provided any required consent before registration.

PDO does not knowingly permit individuals under 12 to create accounts or use the Services.

When permitted, PDO may collect information necessary to create and manage an account, communicate with the minor and their parent or guardian, facilitate volunteer opportunities, and maintain the security of the Services.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a minor's use of the Services and participation in volunteer activities.

PDO does not knowingly sell or share children's personal information for targeted advertising.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and information received from third parties.

Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Account information, including name, email address, phone number, username, password, and related account information;
  • Donor information, including contact information, donation amounts, donation frequency, donation history, and campaign information;
  • Organization information, including organization name, contact information, registration or identification information, banking or payment information, and information provided by authorized representatives;
  • Volunteer information, including name, contact information, skills, interests, availability, and information needed to facilitate volunteer opportunities;
  • Transaction information, including donation and payment-related details. Payment card information may be collected and processed directly by third-party payment processors;
  • Communications, including information provided when you contact PDO, request support, report an issue, or communicate through the Services;
  • User-generated content, including comments, messages, documents, photographs, and other materials you submit; and
  • Other information you voluntarily provide.

You should provide only information that is accurate and that you are authorized to provide.

Donations and Payments

When you make a donation, we may collect information necessary to process, document, and confirm the transaction, including your name, contact information, donation amount, and related transaction information.

Payment transactions may be processed by third-party providers such as Stripe. PDO may receive transaction information from these providers but does not necessarily receive or store complete payment card information.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect information such as:

  • IP address;
  • Browser, operating system, and device information;
  • Device identifiers and technical information;
  • Pages, features, and content accessed;
  • Dates and times of activity;
  • Referring websites or sources;
  • General location information derived from IP address; and
  • Error, performance, security, and other technical information.

We may collect this information through cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, logs, analytics tools, and similar technologies.

Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from payment processors, analytics providers, authentication providers, technology providers, Organizations, and other service providers supporting the Services.

We may combine information from different sources to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Services and for the purposes described in this Policy.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Create and manage accounts;
  • Process and document donations and other transactions;
  • Provide confirmations and support tax-receipt processes;
  • Support Organizations in managing donations, fundraising campaigns, volunteers, communications, and donor relationships;
  • Facilitate communications among PDO, Organizations, donors, volunteers, participating celebrities, and other users where applicable;
  • Facilitate celebrity-related campaigns, communications, fundraising activities, promotions, and opportunities;
  • Provide analytics, reporting, and insights regarding fundraising and engagement;
  • Personalize and improve the Services and develop new features;
  • Provide customer support;
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Services;
  • Send account, transaction, security, legal, and other administrative communications;
  • Send promotional communications where permitted by law and consistent with your preferences;
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations;
  • Respond to lawful requests from courts, regulators, law enforcement, or governmental authorities;
  • Enforce our agreements and protect the rights, property, and safety of PDO, our users, Organizations, participating celebrities, and others; and
  • Fulfill other purposes disclosed at the time information is collected or with your consent where required.

Aggregated and Anonymized Information

We may create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information from information collected through the Services. Where permitted by law, we may use or disclose this information for analytics, research, reporting, product development, and other legitimate business purposes.

We will not intentionally use properly anonymized information to identify you.

Marketing

Where permitted by law, PDO may send promotional communications about PDO, the Services, fundraising opportunities, events, or related offerings.

You may opt out of promotional communications at any time by using the unsubscribe instructions provided or contacting us. You will continue to receive transactional, security, account, and other communications necessary to provide the Services.

5. COOKIES AND THIRD-PARTY TECHNOLOGIES

PDO and third-party providers may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, analyze usage, improve performance, support communications, process transactions, detect fraud, and provide other Services.

Third-party providers may collect information about your device, browser, interactions with the Services, and related technical or usage information.

You may be able to control or disable certain cookies through your browser or device settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some Services.

Depending on the technologies used and applicable law, information about your activity may also be collected across different websites or online services. Where required by law, PDO will provide appropriate notice and choices regarding tracking technologies.

Third parties that operate independently from PDO may have their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their applicable privacy policies.

6. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

Organizations

When you interact with an Organization through the Services, we may provide the Organization with information necessary to process a donation, issue or support a tax receipt, administer a campaign, facilitate volunteer activities, communicate with you, or otherwise provide the service you requested.

For example, an Organization may receive your name, email address, donation amount, campaign information, and other information associated with a donation.

Organizations are responsible for their own use of information received through the Services and may have separate privacy policies and practices.

Participating Celebrities

If you voluntarily participate in a celebrity-related feature, campaign, communication, promotion, or other opportunity, we may share relevant information with the participating celebrity or their authorized representatives, agency, manager, or other applicable party as necessary to facilitate that opportunity.

Service Providers

We may share information with third-party providers that perform services on our behalf, including payment processing, hosting, storage, analytics, communications, customer support, security, fraud prevention, and technology services.

PDO uses Stripe, including Stripe Connect functionality, to support payment processing for Organizations. Information necessary to process transactions may be shared with Stripe and processed subject to Stripe's applicable terms and privacy practices.

Business Transactions

Personal information may be disclosed in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, dissolution, or similar transaction involving PDO or its business.

Legal, Safety, and Security

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, subpoena, or court order;
  • Respond to lawful governmental or regulatory requests;
  • Enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements;
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of PDO, users, Organizations, participating celebrities, or others;
  • Detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity; or
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Services.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, provide consent, or when disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

Aggregated or Anonymized Information

We may share information that has been aggregated, de-identified, or properly anonymized and does not reasonably identify an individual.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

We also do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes except as permitted by law and, where required, with your consent or legally required choice.

7. INFORMATION YOU SHARE WITH ORGANIZATIONS OR OTHERS

Information you provide through the Services may be made available to an Organization associated with your interaction, including information needed to process donations, manage fundraising campaigns, communicate with supporters, or facilitate volunteer opportunities.

Certain features may allow information or content you voluntarily submit to be displayed publicly or shared with other users, Organizations, celebrities, representatives, or third parties.

You should carefully consider information you choose to make public or share. Once information has been made public or provided to another party, PDO cannot control how that recipient may subsequently use or disclose it.

Information independently retained by an Organization or another third party is subject to that party's own privacy practices and retention policies.

8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access or obtain a copy of your personal information;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Request deletion of personal information;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Opt out of promotional communications;
  • Control certain cookies and tracking technologies;
  • Opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising activities where applicable; and
  • Exercise other privacy rights provided by applicable law.

You may update certain account information through your account settings or contact us using the information in Section 13.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. We will respond to requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available to you under applicable law.

9. ACCESS, CORRECTION, AND DELETION

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information maintained by PDO, subject to applicable law and applicable exceptions.

Requests may be submitted to support@parichute.com.

Where permitted and reasonably practicable, PDO will seek to complete requests within 30 calendar days, subject to any longer period permitted or required by applicable law.

Deletion may not result in immediate removal of all information. PDO may retain information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, or reporting obligations;
  • Complete or document transactions;
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity;
  • Resolve disputes or enforce agreements;
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Services; or
  • Satisfy other legal or legitimate retention requirements.

Information already shared with an Organization or other third party may remain subject to that party's independent retention practices.

Public information may also remain accessible if it has been viewed, downloaded, cached, archived, or otherwise retained by others.

10. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended ("CCPA"), subject to applicable exceptions.

These may include the right to:

  • Know about personal information collected, used, or disclosed about you;
  • Access certain personal information;
  • Request deletion;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including certain cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information; and
  • Receive equal treatment for exercising your rights.

California residents may also have the right to use a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal for certain applicable opt-out preferences.

To exercise applicable California privacy rights, contact us using the information in Section 13. We may verify your identity before processing a request. You may authorize another person to submit a request on your behalf, subject to applicable verification requirements.

We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by law. Certain requests may be denied or limited when a legal exception applies.

Terms such as "personal information," "sensitive personal information," "sale," and "sharing" have the meanings provided under applicable California law.

11. DATA SECURITY

PDO maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

These safeguards may include access controls, technical protections for information in transit and storage, security monitoring, secure information handling and disposal procedures, and reasonable security requirements for service providers.

Payment information may be processed by third-party providers such as Stripe under their own security systems and practices. PDO does not retain complete payment card information except as necessary for the operation of the Services and as permitted by applicable law and our agreements with payment providers.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials. If you believe your account or credentials have been compromised, please notify us promptly.

No method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure. Accordingly, PDO cannot guarantee absolute security.

If PDO becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate, take reasonable steps to mitigate the incident, and provide notices required by applicable law.

12. RETENTION OF INFORMATION

PDO retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, maintain business and transaction records, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the security of the Services.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, and applicable legal requirements.

13. CHANGES AND CONTACT INFORMATION

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our Services, business practices, legal requirements, or information-handling practices.

Updated versions will be posted on the Website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Where required, we may provide additional notice of material changes by email, through the Services, or by another reasonable method.

Your continued use of the Services after an updated Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy to the extent permitted by law.

14. ABOUT PARICHUTEDONATE

ParichuteDonate ("PDO") provides nonprofit organizations ("Organizations") with a customizable online donation and fundraising platform designed to help Organizations manage and grow their fundraising efforts.

Depending on the Services used, Organizations may use PDO to:

  • Accept one-time and recurring donations;
  • Launch and manage peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns;
  • Customize branding, messaging, and donor engagement tools;
  • Process and track donations and contributions;
  • Access fundraising analytics and donor information;
  • Communicate with donors and supporters; and
  • Connect with or transfer information to other nonprofit management and fundraising systems.

PDO provides technology and services that facilitate these activities. Organizations remain responsible for their own fundraising activities, communications, privacy practices, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Information collected through the Platform may be processed by PDO on behalf of an Organization. Where applicable, the Organization may have its own privacy policy governing how it collects, uses, discloses, and retains information.
